  • The 2022 Festival Print Artist

    Cheri Weymann was born in New Haven, Ct and has had a lifelong interest in art since early childhood. She studied at the Cechetti school of art near Yale at the age of 11, and achieved a BA in art and dance at Adelphi University in Long Island. After moving to Branford, she studied at times with watercolorist Dee Winterhalter of Sarasota, Florida. She is a member of seven art organizations, including the North East Watercolor society, where she recently won an excellence award in their 2021 International Show. Her work has been exhibited in many venues including the Art Society of Old Greenwich, Lyme Art Gallery, Essex Art Association, Easton Arts Council, Lockwood Matthews Mansion Museum, River Road Gallery, Silvermine Guild Gallery, John Slade Ely House, Water’s Edge, SSG Gallery, Sill Gallery, etc..
    Some of her pieces can be seen at the Branford Antiques Center on Route #1 near RT. #22.
    Her oil painting “Tide Out” is done from a photo of one of Stony Creek’s amazing sunsets taken in February of 2018. The canvas is 24”x30” and it has a 5” wide gold frame, making it 34”x40” total. It was awarded “Best In Show” at the 2021 Willoughby Wallace Library summer exhibition. It is meant to give the viewer a breath of fresh air and a gift of light.
